As Tenzin Gyatso (the 14^th Dalai Lama) says the purpose of life is happiness.  I believe the purpose of life is to share happiness with others.  I also believe from the moment of birth, every human being wants happiness and to avoid suffering. Therefore, the question is to how to affect the most change that helps share happiness with others. When I spend my time at the OFJCC, it reminds me of the time I spent at the Kansas City JCC with friends which provided some of my happiest memories growing up.

As a JCC in the heart of Silicon Valley, we face many unique challenges on how to be inclusive with our diverse member base (very different than Kansas City’s). I view this as a challenge and an amazing opportunity to redefine what it means to be a JCC. Helping others find the things they are passionate about is one of the defining principles of a community. I love helping shape communities and seeing them flourish.

It is such a blessing to be part of this amazing community and to see programs come to fruition and grow. I am so proud to be associated with the center and make a lasting impact for future generations to enjoy. Giving is just one of many ways I help shape my community. I look forward to sharing happiness with other families to continue the tradition of enhancing our community.
